Sister stuff

Things are getting a little bit better. My Person moved my sister into the room with the big white box and the person litter box, and every now and then she goes in there to play with her and then she comes out and I can smell my sister on her. At first that made me REAL mad and I would hiss and growl -- because HEY, LITTLE CAT, THAT IS MY PERSON -- but now whenever my Person comes out, she comes right over to me and pets me a lot and when I don't hiss she smooches me and tells me what a good boy I am and how proud of me she is. I like to make my Person happy so I am trying real hard to not hiss and growl so much but it's HARD!!

Sometimes when my Person goes in to play with my sister she leaves the door open. And she will sit down and have my sister on her lap, and then I go in and sniff around. I have done this twice now, and I only hissed once. I THINK THAT IS PRETTY GOOD INNERNETS.

It helps to have Mona around, too, because Mona is really good with new cats. There is a big crate in the corner of the living room, and when my Person is hanging out in there she moves my sister into the crate so I can see her and smell her and my Person can keep an eye on us. And even though when I go over there I mostly want to hiss, Mona just goes right up to the crate and pokes her nose through, and she and my sister ACTUALLY TOUCH NOSES. I am not ready for that yet, but Mona says it is okay and that I should not be so scared and mad. So I am trying just REAL hard to be a nice big man cat. Because I trust my Person AND I trust Mona.

I really appreciate all the advice you guys have left me and I know my Person does too (she is not so nervous now). It makes me feel a LOT better that a lot of you guys have gone through this and survived, and some of you actually LOVE your sisters!! I hope someday I can play with mine. She hasn't hissed at me at all since the first night, so I think she wants to play someday too.

And, my Person says to tell you that my sister's name is Sophie. And that we can't post any pictures because the STUPID CAMERA IS STILL BROKEN AND I DID NOT EVEN PEE ON IT EVER. And I also want you to know that I have not peed on the couch or anywhere I am not supposed to even though I have been pretty MAD, and I think this makes me a very good boy. What do you guys think?? It seems better now, right?

Oh it sounds SO much better! We are very excited for you Kismet. You and your person are doing such a good job. You will get used to Sophie and hopefully like her the way I do Harlie. It's ok to still keep showing her you're the boss. She'll be cool with that! Can't wait to see pictures. It's so good of you not to be peeing anywhere you aren't supposed to also. And it's a bummer about the camera, even though we know it's not your fault. Keep us all updated!

Oh Kismit, it is so nice that you are trying so hard to be a good kitty. I know your mommy appreciates it. You are a good Big Man Cat! It is OK to be jealous sometimes, but you can't be hissy and mean.
We can't wait to see what Sophie looks like. Don't feel bad about the camera. Stuff happens.

Kismet, I think you are doing very well, and you're not compromising your Big Man-liness in the process. Remember, you'll be able to boss her around soon if you play your cards right.

Kismet this is so very good news! I hated Kaze when she came to live with us and I'm a tolerant cat, even though I'm really a big man cat kind of like you (but not SO manly). You'll like her eventually, I eventually liked Kaze too. Sigh...sisters can be warm and playful AND she won't want to wear your manly wardrobe!

I'm so proud of you, Kismet and know you're trying hard not to pee on things while being so stressed out. Remember what Kimo & Sabi said...Santa sees everything so just try and relax and take it a day at a time!

You are being a very, very good Big Man Cat for trying so hard not to hiss at Sophie and not peeing even though you are so angry. Things will settle down after a while, you'll see.

CHALLINJE TIME!

I got challinjed to have a boodwahr foto taken of me waring the wite rats sissy pink satin bathrobe. Yeah, my sentimints, ixzaktly. But the munney goze to good cawzes. I had to BUY A NEW pink bathrobe becuz the wite rat is a puny runt and I can't sqweeze into his.

So, I'm gonna do my challinje once the regyuler size bathrobe arrives. Since I will never ever ever ware that stoopid sissy pink bathrobe agin, my challenje is to yoo to have YER foto taken waring it. I will ship it off to yoo. If yoo aksept the challinge, I will donate the following:

$20 to kittykind.org
$10 to Brandi's mom
$10 to Oreo's mom
$10 to Libby Marie for vet bills.

I offishully throw down the gawntlitt to yoo, Kismet. It takes a BIG big man cat to ware a sissy pink satin bathrobe!

Accept the challenge, Kismet! You have enough manliness to pull it off. And you can offer the pink robe to your little sister when she is older unless some of the other Kismet groupies come over and rip the robe right off of you.

Hi Kismet!
I can totally relate to this situation with a little puddin cat moving in. It has happened to me too. Once I made it clear who the boss is, we had no problems. My little sister cat Kateri even "cleans up" after me when I have to puke. MOL!
We can't wait to see some pictures!

KISMET, Dont let yer lil sistur see yoo in that pink robe. She mite get the wrong impressun of yer manliness.

Hi Kismet,
It will get better - i gotta a little sister last year and then, to my horror, a week later a little brother-i hated them too & got real depressed & didn't want to play or talk anymore, just sat on the couch with my head down, my beans were very worried about me but soon i realised that having the furbabies round was fun - now we plays & plays and snuggles together in front of the fire when it's cold.
Good luck
Mitten the smitten kitten

I'm an Airedale Terrier but I live with 4 kitties... mom told me that once one of our tabbies peed into the back of the computer and no one could figure out what the "special" smell was for awhile - it wasn't funny at the time apparently, but it's pretty funny now... and his name was Kismet too! He was a gorgeous, big orange tabby (I never got to meet him, unfortunately).

I'm just a cat-lovin' dog and I like your blog! I'm going to put a link to it on mine, hope you don't mind! www.toaireisdivine.com & toaireisdivine.blogspot.com
