Person post

Hi cat bloggers,

My big, wonderful, grumpy, whisker-humped man cat left me this morning in his sleep. He died in bed next to me and, as a final show of defiance, made sure to pee all over the bed right before I woke up.

I hope wherever he is is a place full of Friskies (more than I gave him, which was NEVER ENOUGH), Cheez-Its, doors to escape through, blankets to hump, furniture to scratch, futons to pee on and persons to mraw at.

I can never thank you enough for the love and support you have shown Kismet over the years, especially when he was first diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. I'm so thankful that he touched so many lives. I will miss him forever.

Teri and her Stylish Adventure Cats said...

Oh Kismet, we will never forget your whisker humps...

We, too, lost our Bo to HCM and we remember how sad those days were...the sadness softens with the passing years, but the heart still misses his presence and Teri gets blinky when she thinks of Bo...like now.

May this poem help you keep him with you always...

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

Kismet, I am so broken harted that you wint to The Bridge so erly that I can't think strate. I wood not be the big mancat I am today without you. I rote an obituary for yoo on mousebreath, but it's lame compared to how much I loved you. Like the grate Wizzerd of Oz sed, "The size of yer hart is not measured by how much you love, but how much you are loved."

We're so, so sorry to hear of your loss. We don't know that we've ever introduced ourselves, but we did follow Kismet's story starting a couple of years or so ago. He was a very handsome dude and obviously had many, many people and cats who loved him dearly. We have a couple of bros at the Bridge - they'll probably seek him out. He seems like their kind of dude. Purrs to you all - we know you must miss him terribly.
